Zoning of sea spaces in the territorial sea, continental shelf and in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Bulgaria. Functions and uses are grouped into four types of zones: Zones with a ban on use (PPP) Zones with specific conservation regime (3RD) Multifunctional zones (LMP) Zones for future uses (GPA) For each of the zones, the regimes are systematized to be carried out and the interaction rules with other functions and activities. Considering the dynamic nature of the environment and the maritime spatial plan, this zoning also has a dynamic character to reflect changes in changing environmental, technology, national or sectoral priorities and needs.

Content

Zoning of sea spaces in the territorial sea, continental shelf and in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Bulgaria. Functions and uses are grouped into four types of zones: Zones with a ban on use (PPP) Zones with specific conservation regime (3RD) Multifunctional zones (LMP) Zones for future uses (GPA) For each of the zones, the regimes are systematized to be carried out and the interaction rules with other functions and activities. Considering the dynamic nature of the environment and the maritime spatial plan, this zoning also has a dynamic character to reflect changes in changing environmental, technology, national or sectoral priorities and needs.

Usage ban (PPP) - only one-feature is possible due to legal prohibitions and incompatibility other functions and uses due to risk to safety, security, life and health of people, risk of incidents and damage to important infrastructure or cultural values. In this group includes military and training areas, shipping bans, anchor, as well as underwater linear objects of technical infrastructure, which has a potential danger of being affected by other activities in the bottom. Such studies are carried out in collaboration with various scientific institutions, large companies and international organizations. Due to limited information on the potential of such zones are currently identified only those that can combine other large scientific research projects. They need refinement in the process of public consultations. Main objectives: Disclosure of the potential of maritime spaces outside the scope of the territorial sea and the adjacent area to complement the knowledge and full use of the resources of the Black Sea.
